Apple Pay is rapidly approaching over 80 million users, and this number is expected to steadily grow as Apple releases new smart devices and wearable technology. With that many potential customers worldwide, why wouldn’t you want to take advantage and use Apple Pay online?
Customers using the Safari web browser and an iPhone, iPad, or Mac can purchase items or make donations on websites wherever Apple Pay is accepted by clicking a “Pay with Apple Pay” button. The customer does not have to create an account or login, but they will receive a notification on their iPhone to confirm and authenticate the transaction via fingerprint sensor.
After a merchant session is authenticated and the user's device is deemed capable of accepting Apple Pay, a payment area will be presented to the user. Once the user has verified their information and the touch ID is used, an authorization token will be generated by Apple Pay. This one-time-use token will then be sent to BluePay for authenication and to process the payment, and a real-time response is received. If approved from the back-end network, funds will be moved within 24-48 hours to the merchant's bank account.
